1. Open up a new file in your paint program (Gimp, MSPaint, etc)

This is what we're going to do 
1. Open up a new file in your paint program (Gimp, MSPaint, etc)
2. Zoom in about 600% or more and start pixel in the outline
(using a 1px brush ofcourse =P)

3. Pick a color that's lighter than your outline and fill the hearts in

4. Use a color much lighter than the fill color to do the lighting
*Remember where's your light coming from! Mine will be on the top left

5. Now add the shadow, a color darker than the fill but not darker than the outline

6. You can stop at Step5 for small pixels
Continue on add another set of lighting and shadow
